Getting Better

Things are looking better for me more and more. I got up at a desent time yesterday (9:3o AM), but not today because I was lazy, but the good news is I found the secret. It's to put my alarm clock at a distance from myself. Along with that I am going to have an interview for a job soon. I'm not going to go into any detail, but I am looking forward to it. If things get any better, I'll be having short stories published in major magazines, having my name reached out to all corners of the literary world.
I've been thinking about the movement I've been working on, and the idea that I'd start a movement is scaring me. A friend of mine is discussing founding a magazine with me about this, and I'm starting to realize I don't want to run a magazine. I don't have the neccisary skills to run a magazine. I don't even want to run a magazine. It will cut into my writing time. The idea is filling me with dread and fear in the long hours of the night, when I have sudden fears of non-existance. I'm going to bring this up to my friend, that I don't want to get involved in this.
To be honest, the whole Magic Naturalism thing was just one of my dellusions of starting a new Beat Generation, which all in all is one of the last things I would want. I don't have the social skills of a Ginsberg, or the abbility to run of and hide in my alchoholism of a Kerouac. The best I could do is pull a Burroughs and leave the country for a good long time and wait until it all blows over. That would probubly be my best move, all things considered. But with the Internet would that even matter? Would they just track me down using, I don't know twitter or something? Can they even track me down with twitter if I'm not on it? You know what I'm saying, can I be tracked down using the internet? If I do it right probubly not. I'll have to do it right then, and not tell you, because Time Magazine will be reading this then.
Oh, who am I kidding. It will probubly be Macleans.

The Big Season 5 Lost Post

Today was a day of Job Searching. I don't know how good I did, but I dropped of six resumes, mostly at restaurants and bookstores. I don't have much hope for the bookstores, but I can dream can't I? Anyways, I have a good feeling about a couple of the restaurants, a couple new ones and I think one may be hiring. I also checked City Hall, but they don't except unsolicited resumes. Probably not a good idea for a summer job. I also tried to find the downtown office of a local newspaper, but that doesn't exist anymore.
Well, besides that it has come to my attention that I have a new follower. So far the only follower I've had is Aspie Mom, but it appears that I have I have someone called "The Hostile Witness," who is a LOST fan. I think either she is an Aspie, her son is, or they both are and she only just learned about it recently. How she found my blog I have no idea, but I figured that I'd give a great big Namaste and get about my Lost post.
So, for those of you who don't know the basic story of what happened last week and for the past while, Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sayid were sent to 1977 while they were trying to get back to the island. Sun, Ben and Lapedis are in good old 2007, as well as Locke but we'll get to Locke latter. Faraday thought that it would be a pretty good idea to prevent the entire series timeline by setting of a hydrogen bomb where the hatch is going to be before the Dharma folks open an energy pocket, leading to the creation of the hatch, leading to the system where you have a guy pushing a button every 108 minutes because if they don't SOMETHING BAD WILL HAPPEN, leading to Desmond being in the hatch, leading to Desmond not pushing the button, leading to Oceanic Flight 815 crashing on The Island. With me so far?
Well, the bad thing is that Faraday is killed by his mother, who is one of the Others, which is unfortunate because I like Faraday. I named a character for a role-playing game after him (and a line from a Tom Waits song, but either way). With Faraday having bit the dust in a very Greek Tragedy format, Jack thinks it's a good idea to go on with his plan despite it involves setting of a HYDROGEN BOMB to CHANGE THE COURSE OF HISTORY, which are bad ideas put together and makes me nervous. Anyways, Jack is able to get an hydrogen bomb from the Others, who picked one up when the American Military dropped by the Island to drop one, yeah this Island has got everything hasn't it? And what happens, everyone decides that they'll go along with it. Kate and Sawyer complain a bit, and Sawyer beats the shit out of Jack but in the end they're going to set it off. And the last scene is Juliette banging at the hydrogen bomb with a rock until it goes off taking the next thirty years of history.
Now, back to our group in 2007. Ben, Sun and Lapidis are still in the present, but it seems everyone else on the plane belongs to a bunch of people who know about the island and have a code question "What lies in the shadow of the statue?" Along with this, it appears that Locke has pulled a Jesus and come back from the dead, which Ben says is something the island has not done and "scares the hell out of me." Mind you, Ben had killed Locke, so there's that factor to look in on. So Locke gets it into his head that he wants to bring all the Other's over to Jacob's place and he's going to go and have a nice big talk, only he's not going to talk to Jacob, he's going to KILL JACOB! Well, actually he's not going to kill Jacob, he's going to have Ben kill Jacob. And in the end it works, but the thing is, it isn't really Locke, because the "What lies in the Shadow of the Statue" People have LOCKE'S BODY! So Locke didn't really kill Jacob.
Oh yeah, by the way, we know what Jacob looks like now, and technically so do Jack, Kate, Sayid, Sun, Jin, Hurley and Locke before hand. He is also apparently a Flannery Conner fan, but knowing how many literary references there are in this show it's probably safe to presume that Jacob is ridiculously well read. Also, there is somebody else, who well will call Anti-Jacob, or Not Locke because that is the guy who was doing a very convincing Locke impression. Anti-Jacob and Jacob meet in the first bit of the show and have a nice friendly conversation about how Anti-Jacob would really like to kill Jacob one of these days, and how Jacob has gone and brought an old ship, presumably the Black Rock, to the Island. Also, the statue is off Tawaret, who is a really not nice Egyptian Goddess.
So, In Conclusion...
  • Jack went and rewrote history so now Oceanic Flight 815 did not crash on the island.
  • Locke is not Island Jesus, it was just Anti-Jacob.
My theory.
  • Jacob is God
  • Desmond, whom as Faraday explained the rules of time do not apply too, is going to be really pissed at Jack if he remembers this, because for all we know Penny hasn't even been born.
  • The show has not jumped the shark, because that is what I thought with the whole Oceanic 6 thing and that turned out pretty well.
  • Richard was on that boat.
  • And finally, I still think that the end of the show is going to end with a talk between Jack and his father and/or Jacob made up mostly of non-sequiters. I am fine with them not answering all the questions, in fact I'd really rather they left a few unanswered ones for the fans to figure out.

Job Search Update

Yesterday was a day of job searching, or at least dropping of resumes at various resturaunts. I think the main reasons I'm looking into resturaunts is that it was what my parents suggested. I'm a sucker for doing what my parents say. This is probubly a positive or negative trait depending on who you are. On the one hand, I could be living under my parents wings to much, but on the other end they do have good advise most of the time. Like "When your in a social situation, watch people and do what they do," or "Get out of my room, it's 2:30 in the morning."
Rowan, who is one of my older friends, gave me alot of ideas when we ran into each other. He's saying that since I'm so good at using words I should find a job with a newspaper or at City Hall or something like that. He also suggested that I hook up with one of those stores in town that sells bracelets and stuff and busk, which sounded cool but I think I'll try something else since I don't think it can get me to the kind of money I'd like. The paper ideas sound like a good idea. Rowan also said that I'm a really good wordsmith, which is nice because I was worrying about that.
Today, I am hanging out at Revel, not that I have anything I can buy food with or anyone to meet, but because this is the only place my laptop gets internet and I'm guying Itunes music. I'm trying to decide whether I should get a Tom Waits album or an Andrea Gibson album. On the one hand, I have alot of Tom Waits albums and nothing by Andrea Gibson, but on the other I really like this album, by Dad has it on vinyl and I like liseaning to it. But again, this album is available on vinyl, and I may be getting tired of it as it is. Also, I don't have alot of spoken word stuff, just two albums by Burroughs and an album of Kerouac that also features his bad singing. I could have bought both, but I also bought a Billy Childish album, since I have had my eye on that for a long time. I still don't know which one to choose, so I'm going to leave this blog and get back to that problem. See you folks latter.

Death and Ego

Still haven't gotten a job, but that can all be blamed on the fact I haven't gotten up to do it. My writing has slowed down, which is also due to my own laziness. I seem to be better at writing down ideas then stories. I'm also coming down with a stuffy nose, which hasen't stopped me from dropping by my favorite cafe and drinking a nice warm cup of hot chocolate.
Well, besides the stuffy nose there isn't that much I can talk about. I went to the funeral of a friend's relative, but I'm not going to go into that because it's not really my business and it certainly isn't yours (unless you are said friends, in which case you know what I'm talking about). And while I was there I began thinking about death. Death is something I think about, specifically my death, late at night. The fact that one day I won't exist anymore is a bit bothersome and scary. I'm very used to having at least some awareness about what is going on in the world around me and the fact that one day this will all just stop scares me. Also, there is the fact that I'll miss my own funeral, and generally I like things that are about me. Since funerals are all about the dead person, I'd be missing out on one of the few times that it is all about me. That ticks me off, because I'm a very egocentric person.
Which brings me up to other bit of internal life news. I'm realizing that I can be a pretty self-absourbed person sometimes. I mean, I'm not an egocentric jerk all the time, I think. The problem in all this is at somepoint in my life, after I have reached the first milestone of living on my own I want to have a girlfriend, maybe even a wife. If I am to do this I'm going to have to become less egocentric, as I'm going to have to live with another human being for a longtime. Maybe I'm getting to far ahead in my development. Ah, maybe I should just stop talking about all this before I give to much away to the trolls.
Well, all I can say for now is that things are looking up. I am feeling better emotionally and my nose is feeling better as well, maybe because I took some Reactin earlier, but other then that I don't know.

I miss University

I miss University. I know that I was lonely, stressed and the room smelt funny but I had freedom. Living with your parents tends to lessen the affect of freedom, since know I have to think about how my decisions affect my family. Also, my allowance is down to $20.00 every two weeks. I accsidently brought this up, and my dad stared at me funny so I may not even get the 20 anymore. I need to get a job, which I don't feel that good with. I have very poor work experience. The only thing going for me is that I'm a student, and I need a job.
Anyways, back to University...I really have nothing else to say. I just miss the relative freedom of University. As well as the regularlly scheduled meals. I'm still getting the basic three squares at home, but at University it ran on a clock. Every night at 5 I had dinner and I knew what I was eating, except on Wednesday when I had to eat at 5:30 and even then I had a vague idea of what it was.
I got all this way because I was just at Univesity getting all my stuff out of there. I know am out of University. I just have to get my exam done and that's it. I'm gone for 4 months. I'm a bit sad about that.

I'm Still Alive Everyone

I'm running against my own body and sleep deprevasion. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself. I have to write six more pages in my Ginsberg essay that I don't know if I can write. I know what I'm writing about, I just can't get my thoughts in order. God, I'm so tired. That's what I've been for the past few days. Tired, I feel almost Beat in the Beat Generation sense. I even had a religious experience that I'll write about sometime soon I hope. I have to run by what I've written on Monday to four other English students and I have a test on Aristotle in philosophy. Aristotle god damn, he's the scientist! Plato will have been the Platonic form of cake compared to Aristotle. All this talk about rational thought is making me sick. I don't even believe that rational thought exists.
I'm so tired of all of this. I don't know how I'll get through the end of the year. I feel like I could collapse at anytime from mental exhaustion. I feel like I'm going through my days in a daze. I'm so frustrated that I can't finish what should be such a simple essay for me. It's Allen Ginsberg god damn it. I read Howl before I even came to University. He's my favorite poet. I should have had this finished days ago, but I'm not and it dosn't look like it's going to be finished tonight.
I finished Maus, which was good. I'm supposed to have that read for Monday. At least I've got something done, I also picked up a book on Howl and dropped off a resume for a job for summer. Were, my mom and I, are thinking that this summer I'm going to forgoe any classes. The job is as a dishwasher and shouldn't be to frustrating. The place seems to be a good environment. Small, quirky. I could write a few short stories about it, even a novel. I'll read some Lawrence and Davies and Pound.

No Summer Job so I Start Writing Stupid

Because of my coming assent into the world of University and academia, I am not going to be searching for a summer job. This means I am still living off my parents money for books and Itunes. I used my Itunes money to by two albums of off Itunes. Blood on the Tracks, by Bob Dylan and Hunky Dory, by David Bowie. I enjoy both albums alot. If I was a musician, then I'd make albums like this, where all the songs are really good and you need to lisean to them all at the same time for it to be really good. Maybe I could do that for short stories and poems and things.
On the subject of writing, I am getting on the Last Dance Revolution train again. I decided that I need to write it from a different perspective. To do that I am going to write part of it as a biography of Naos and Helen. I got the ide from reading about this book called Lint by a guy called Steve Aylett. It's about a cult writer who never existed. I think that's a pretty interesting idea, since cult writers generally lead very interesting lives. I don't really know how I'll do this, maybe the biographer will be some version of myself or some really odd Gonzo Hyunter S. Thompson type person who's writing this from an insane asylum.
I've been wondering what I should do with this blog once I become a famous writer. I was thinking I'd get my own website or something and link to it. The website would basically give updates to when my next book will be out. I'd concentrate on my blog mostly, or start another blog. By that time I'd be using my actual name instead of my some-what unimaginative screen name.

Busted Computers make me angry

My home computer, the one I usually use, has a real bad virus. We aren't going to use it for awhile and this is a problem for me. Not only do I not like using the older and slower computer, but my Itunes information is on the other computer. I can't recharge my Ipod on the other computer either. I still got some good battery power on it, but I don't think it can last much beyond Wednesday, and that's only if I don't use it.
The job search still isn't doing well. I looked around in the newspaper and I found ads to start a home business and work at a cosmetics store. I don't know if I can work at as a cosmetics store, and I'm unsure if I can do a home business. I'm thinking I may start busking, reciting poetry for loose change. I don't know if that can work. When I get home I'll be calling my employment specialist.
On another note, I am trying on writing more often. I'm hoping on getting ten to twenty pages done per day, not including blog entries. I think this is a good way to start and as I get more time to write, and better endurance I'll work my way up to twenty. This will take awhile of course, and I am also reading three books at the moment. I also plan on reading some short stories, since I could probably make some money off of that. Not much, but it would get me noticed. So far I only have "Godot is Dead," but I'll pick up a few books of short stories while I'm at the library. I have The Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe beside me now. That should be a start. Also I have a bunch of science fiction magazines at home I could read. I haven't read science fiction in awhile and with the Robert A. Heinlein novel "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress," I plan on returning to more. Specifically Heinlein, and Spider Robinson who is like a hippie-folk singer version of Robert A. Heinlein.
I'm starting to wonder what kind of mode my fiction will take. At first I thought I'd write science fiction, then I figured I'd write epic fantasy, now I seem to have abandoned my original concept of an epic fantasy realm. At the moment, the closest thing I have to an epic fantasy is the Hippie story(ies) and that hasn't event begun to be written yet. At the moment, I don't think I have any specific type, any specific genre. I'm just going to great works of literature that bend all genres. I might still write an epic fantasy, but I think it would be something like Stephen King's Dark Tower series. No elves or dwarves or hobbits or replicas of medieval Europe. I'm probably going to be more inspired by Islamic society of the Middle-East and India. But at the moment my two main concerns are The Last Dance Revolution and the really really big Hippie book that is going to be at least 500 pages. I'd go into more detail, but who knows what kind of dirty little plagiarists are trying to steal my ideas.
So, that's it for today I suppose. Below I have the Question of the Post. That is where I ask you your opinion about something. Read and reply.
Question of the Post: Do you enjoy reading about all the updates in my life? Do you find it helps give me a more personal setting? Do you think my life is boring?

My Sentence Is Up!

After five years I have completed my tenure of High School. For the next two months I am in limbo, preparing for University and hopefully getting some money.
The feeling of being cut of from School is kind of strange. There's a great emptiness in my life now that school isn't there. I don't know what it is I'll do with myself while I'm unemployed. I've been talking with my LEADS specialist and she's given me some ideas on next steps I should take. She says I should look through the newspaper and Job Bank of Canada to find work. I think I'll check out Job Bank and see what I can find.
Just found it, the only thing I could find is Taxi Driver. I can't drive and the environment is to faced passed for me. I guess I should check the newspaper next. I'll do that later today.
Since it's Summer, I should develop a summer reading list. At the moment I'm reading Invisible Man, by Ralph Ellison and Slaughterhouse Five, by Kurt Vonnegut. I figure that to create a summer reading list I'll need to find every book I have on my shelf that I havn't read and read it. Also I'm trading books with my Church pastor. She's going to give me books about Christianity and I'm going to give her books like On the Road, by Jack Kerouac and Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, by Tom Robbins.
My mom says she'll take me to the University of Waterloo every week so we can map out routes and acclimatize me to the area. We'll find routes to my Aunt and Uncle's who live in Waterloo, the video store, used bookstores and anywhere else I might need to go.
The following are all the books I feel a pressing need to read.
  1. Watership Down, by Richard Adams
  2. Farewell, My Lovely, by Raymond Chandler
  3. Dhalgren, by Samuel R. Delany
  4. Tales of Neveryon, by Samuel R. Delany
  5. The Fall of the Towers, by Samuel R. Delany
  6. Tapping the Dream Tree, short stories by Charles de Lint
  7. A Scanner Darkly, by Philip K. Dick
  8. Notes from the Underground, by Fyodor Dostoyevesky
  9. The Original Illustrated Sherlock Holmes, by Arthur Conan Doyle. Short stories and The Hounds of Baskerville
  10. The Name of the Rose, by Umberto Eco
  11. Deathbird Stories, short stories by Harlan Ellison
  12. Neuromancer, by William Gibson
  13. Riders of the Purple Sage, by Zane Grey
  14. The Novels of Dashiell Hammett, by Dashiell Hammet. consists of Red Harvest, The Dain Curse, The Maltese Falcon, The Glass Key and The Thin Man.
  15. To Sail Beyond the Sunset, by Robert A. Heinlein
  16. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein
  17. Revolt in 2100, by Robert A. Heinlein
  18. The Cat Who Walks Thorugh Walls, by Robert A. Heinlien
  19. Time Enough For Love, by Robert A. Heinlien
  20. Friday, by Robert A. Heinlien
  21. Expanded Universe, by Robert A. Heinlien
  22. Variable Star, by Robert A. Heinlien and Spider Robinson
  23. Conan the Adventurer, by Robert E. Howard
  24. A Thief of Time, by Tony Hillerman
  25. Les Miserables, by Victor Hugo
  26. A Voyage to Arcturus, by David Linsey
  27. Insomnia, by Stephen King
  28. The Eyes of the Dragon, by Stephen King
  29. The Shining, by Stephen King
  30. Hearts in Atlantis, by Stephen King
  31. The Phantom of the Opera, by Gaston Leroux
  32. The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Tales, short stories by H.P. Lovecraft
  33. Remembrence of Things Past, by Marcel Proust, translated by C.K. Scott Moncrieff. Volume One, consisting of Swann's Way, Within A Budding Grove and The Guermantes Way.
  34. Midnight's Children, by Salman Rushdie
  35. The Satanic Verses, by Salman Rushdie

This list is by no means over. I just realized how many books I own that I havn't read yet. I need to really get to work on them. I hope that I can finish most of them by the end of summer.

I don't want to work, I just want to read all my books all day

School is going to be over soon. I want it over now. I feel tired and stetched out and I just want to sit down for a long time and read without worrying about homework. I have a killer book list this summer and with University just over the horizon I don't know if I'll have much chance for personal reading I'll get done.
What I need to do is get a big reading list and work on that. I just don't know if I can finish it in two months. There are some pretty long and so are some of the books. Also, the chances of me getting a job have increased for the summer. I don't want to go into to much detail, but it will affect my time to read.
I'm starting to wonder if the Last Dance Revolution may be dead or in need of a rest. I feel I need a distraction from it, or at least to give it a linear narrative. Maybe I'll do both. I'll come up with an idea to work on over the summer while redoing the Last Dance Revolution. I may need to completely overhall the plot.
In the meantime I may need to figure out what to write over the summer. Possibly I'll try writing the first Jack Blackwright novel. I'm thinking that for the first decade or so of my writing career I'm going to write stuff like that mostly. Stuff like Jack is going to be my meal ticket while I'm working on what I hope to be my important novels such as The Last Dance Revolution. So I may just write the first Jack Blackwright novel and then maybe a few stories. I'm still trying to get the hang of Jack's universe. Since I'm not using fully traditional fantasy subjects, or at least ones that are hidden or in roles that one would not usually expect them, it may be a hard sell. Also I'm going to have to do alot of reaserch on London during the 1960's. I guess a trip to the library will be needed. I figure that a few other stories will also be needed to get the world in any cohesive order. I'll probubly be working on the novel for awhile.

Big Ol' Update, and Bob Dylan's hair

Well it's finally happened. I am going to get my haircut. Today at 1845 hours, I will get my magnificent head of long hair cut off. My mom bribed me with $100 dollars worth of Itunes, since I've spent 25 of that already I'm obliged to get it cut. The style in question is going to be a sort of early Bob Dylan thing. If that goes well I might try out the electric-era Cate Blanchett style of Bob Dylan hair cut.
On the subject of Bob Dylan, I saw the bio-flick they did of him awhile back with the six different people. It was a pretty cool trip. It was also creepy how Cate Blanchett looked the most like Bob Dylan of any of the assembled Bob Dylans. The overall effect of using six different actors to play Bob Dylan gave the film a very surreal effect, and I always love a bit of surrealism.
I've been working at the local museum for community service hours, which I need to get done by the end of the month. Basically I have to get everything into boxes for the big move. I also have yet to get an actual job, but I've been looking around. My employment specialist is helping me look and hopefully I'll have one for the summer.
Tomorrow I'm going to the University of Waterloo to look around again. It looks like I'm going here and that I'm going to Conrad Grebel, despite first impressions, it is seeming to be the place to go. It's small, comfortable and they can get me my own room if I go with them. That and they have good food. I also hope to sell some books I don't need anymore, the proceeds of which will probubly go to more books.

Looking forward to March Break. March Break will have nothing to do with this post.

So, I'm working in a co-op as part of my school. The workplace in question is a local museaum with a bunch of pioneer and Victorian stuff. Basically, I entered in a bunch of stuff onto a computer database. Yesterday I did doilies and tablecloths. It's kind of boring, but they give me a lot of free time. My parents are giving me a hard time about it by asking me stupid questions like how many artifacts I put into the database per day, which I don't pay attention to. I suppose I shouldn't complain, because they're giving me a lift until the weather becomes more tollerable.
Speaking of the weather, it's hell outside. The sidewalks are covered with ice and the town council isn't doing a thing about it. I nearly tripped on my way to the library today, (which is were I am now). It's annoting, That and snow is going down everywhere. I think it may be having an effect on my emotions, as I have been feeling kind of depressed lately. I'd like to take a vacation to a nice tropical place, that would be great.
The novel is coming along slowly. I can't seem to get it just the way I want. At the moment I'm concentrating on the first bit were Naos and Helen are trying to make a new life for themselves in the Desert, but don't do it because they have to complete the rest of the novel. Along with this I plan on writing in the first year or so of Naos and Helen's relationship. Helen is beginning to take on some Aspergers traits as I write this. I have this one seane where Naos gives Helen some flowers, and Helen just thinks "What are these for?" I suppose it's only write for Helen to have social difficulties, as she wasn't intended to have anything like a real social life by her creators, so I imagine she should have some similarities to Aspergers Syndrome.
Anyway, I heard a thing on Neil Gaiman's blog about a library that came under attack by the Religious Right, because there children were watching internet porn on the library internet. Naturally, this lead to the American Inquistion searching the library and finding all kinds of stuff on safe-sex and homosexuality. Naturally, the Religious Right wanted the Library shut down. I think the Library is shut down, but there are several problems here. Number One, I hate the Religious Right. I believe that you guys are going to kill us all and I seriously believe that if Jesus was to come down from heaven on his holy-Harley (refrence to my mythology, Jesus is a biker in it), the Religios Right would be the first people he'd complain about. Number Two, there your kids. If don't want them to watch internet porn then watch them, or at least not get so worked up about them. Was it not Khalil Gibran who said "You can give them your love but not there thoughts, they have there own thoughts." I'm pretty sure he said something to that effect. I know that porn isn't the best thing to be into, but you can't control people's thoughts. Number Three, and this has nothing about the library, this is just part of my tirade against the Religious Right, which is all this paragraph is really, me bitching about the religious right. Keep religion out of your politics. Jesus dosn't support any wars, especially not a war that is all about greed and prestige. If I had anything to say about it, you'd all go to hell for that, and I don't even believe in that kind of afterlife. I would create hell just for you guys to suffer in. Not sure what I'd do, probubly make you lisean to hippie music for all eternity. However, I cannot do this, because A) I'm not God (no matter how good a God I would make) and B) If I was God, then I'd have to love all my creations equally I'd probubly just send a bunch of Prophets or something among you which you would eventually kill.
Kay, I have nineteen minutes to look at stuff on this internet computer. Don't worry, it won't be porn.

Pre-Valentine's Blues

So that job at the Rogers Video I told you about isn't going to happen. Turns out they thought it was a co-op placement and I'll be getting that at the museum. I suppose it's for the best, Rogers is to much of a chain store.
So Valentine's day is coming up. This always highlights my isolation from everyone. I'm not going into to much detail, since I'm not in a mood to post some of my deeper thoughts on the internet. I'm also feeling isolated from my parents. I just don't think I can talk to them anymore. They'd probubly say that I can always talk to them, but I don't want to. Shit, know I feel all lonely again. sigh.
Anyway, that's about it. Computer still dosn't work. Can't think of anything else to say. Bye

A post that I think is the first for Feburary 2007 that ends suddenly

I'm writing this at the public library. Why I'm telling you this I have no idea, but I feel you need to now. My usual computer is being naughty and won't let me go on the Internet, and the other one I just down right hate because it's to slow. Oh, Steph, this is for you, I probubly can't get to you anytime soon because of this. I'll be calling relatives in to fix it as soon as possible. So, I came to the library and am now writing it from here. I'm feeling that this is going to be a stream of consciousness post, because I seem to be in that mood.
So, today I met with the Employment Specialist, you know, the one from LEADS, the government organization that helps aspies get jobs. Well, it looks like I'll be getting a job at the local Rogers. The basic idea is for me to stock shelves and help people find movies. Shouldn't be to hard.
So, just after the Employment Specialist left, I joined a conversation with some local kids from my school. They seem like really nice people and I've had minor encounters with them before. The conversation was mainly about artistic stuff, and creating worlds. I didn't bring up Mythania, which I probubly should have. I really liked hanging out with them, if only for the conversation was interesting and I liked the way they dress. Don't really know how to describe it, I think the male one called the style "Fashion Whore," which I think means being a slave to a certain style of fashion. I think I may have that, though I don't seem to go for the style they go for. I really should try and describe it sometime, it would make a good writing practise.
So, I am now in a new semester. Here is what I am taking...
  • English, Writer's Craft, A class were I get to write and stuff like that. I havn't written anything of great importance, but I do plan on bringing my novel in sometime to show off. Kind of to say "Look at me, I'm writing a novel."
  • History Renaissaunce to modern era, Also fun, we're learning about the Renaissaunce. We saw a movie on the Medici family, which basically funded the Renaissaunce. The one guy, Cosimo de Medici glowered at the camera for the entire movie. "I'm Cosimo de Medici. Grr."
  • Co-op, I get a job without pay, but with experience. It looks like I'll be working at a local museaum, which should be kind of fun. This cource is two periods long.
So, that's about it, except for a list I just thought off. It's basically all the traits I would like to have from other writers. There are other aspects of these writers, mostly style, but I'll put other things on the list. These are just the important things.
  1. The Wit of Oscar Wilde, Oscar Wilde is really cool, and I'd like to be able to go to parties and just be generally witty. I think I have some degree of wit already, and I'd like to work it into my writing. I'll have to think about it.
  2. The Cult Status of Michael Moorcock, I only heard about Michael Moorcock in the past few years. As far as I'm concerned that is part of what make's him so cool, that and his books are some of the best fantasy I have ever read. That and nearly all the books I own from him are out of print things I found in used book stores, and I'd really like to be one of those writers you can only find in used bookstores because that's were all the cool ones are.
  3. The Mystical-Spiritual Leanings of William Blake, I'd like to write stuff that is really profound, kind of surreal and dosn't make that much sense. Again, this is a problem because the majority of my work at the moment seems to be leaning towards prose and when your dealing with philosophy in prose you have to be careful not to make it seem to much of a social commentary. I guess I could read some Ayn Rand and see how she worked her philosophy into her novels, and if it gets the effect I want I'll use that style. Mind you, I have a few problems with Ayn Rand and Objectivism which I will not go into at this moment.
  4. The female-fan base of Neil Gaiman, Now, this may be all speculation on my part, but I have picked up that there is a strong female fan base for Neil Gaiman. I don't know if he actually got writer groupies, or if this is just a delusion me and several other teenage males who desire to be fiction writers dream off, but either way, if it does lead to something like that
  5. The Weirdness Factor of Grant Morrison, I have yet to read The Invisibles, but I swear to God I will buy every copy. I've read the thing on it on Wikipedia and it sounds immensilly weird and cool, and just the sort of thing I would like to write. I don't know if I'd actually believe the crazyness I write, which Grant Morrison does, but I would still write crazy cool stuff like that.
  6. The Stephen-Kingness of Stephen King, I don't know what it is, but I want to write something like the Dark Tower series and something like The Stand. I don't know what it is, but everything I've read by him I like.

My sister makes me feel sad

Well, I am a working man. My job is to underline important documents for a very important non-government place, but I can't tell you what else. Condididencial. The pay is pretty good, and beside the tedium I have no complaints.
I don't really know what else to say besides that. I could probubly go on about how I feel lonely and how I long for real human contact. My sister isn't really helping. Not the really little perky one, the larger negative one. She's good at that. She seems to get joy from making the lives of others miserable. She's like a postitive energy vampire. This is probubly part of the effect, me complaining how much of a rhymes-with-witch she is, but she really makes me feel bad. She's always calling me Emo, which she uses as a slur.
Anyway, one a more postitive note I am know on Book Five of the Dark Tower series. The Tower grows ever closer.

Day off School

Today closes a major chapter in my life. I no longer need to get my back checked out at an out-of-town hospital. My curvy spine isn't going to get any curvier and I'm not in any serious pain. Looks like the sun is shining down upon me. However, now I won't be able to get time of school to go to used book stores and such.
Speaking of used book stores, I went to City Lights today and picked up some new books. The books were an Elric novel and a thing on the Samurai from the collection of some guy who had alot of similar tastes to me. Lots of paranormal, mythological and religious works. I also picked up Fly by Night, by Rush and a Greatest Hits thing by the Grateful Dead. I also ended up in a record store with my dad and picked up a CD from a band called Hawkwind. Hawkwind is a progressive rock band that Michael Moorcock worked with. It's kind of weird.
In other news, I may be getting a job at the Festival Theatre. I suppose that's a dead give away to which city I live in, but I'm still not telling you were. I don't know exactly what it entails, but I get my own office and I think I help with safety. Here's hoping they allow casual dress!
And that's it. Bye-bye.

LEADS and Dragonboating.

Six days and no posts. Far past time to get to work.
Wednesday i met my guidance councilar from LEADS who's going to held me find a job. We shall call her Kaylee, because she reminds me of the character from Firefly of the same name. Not sure why. I think it's the voice. Anyway, I showed her my regular haunts which didn't take long as I only have three regular haunts discluding School and my house. These three regular haunts are the public library (which she has already seen), the Book Vault and Tango's, a coffee house were I eat cookies and write stuff. We will be meeting again next Wednesday at Tangos.
Today however, I went Dragonboating in health Class, and I HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT! HATED IT!
Needless to say, I didn't find it that enjoyable. Unfortunatly I have to do it again Wednesday. Not fun.
And that's my life. Nobody tell me to hang in about the Dragonboating please.
