Upcoming Thanksgiving Weekend and Ralph's Health

Today I will be heading home for Thanksgiving Weekend. Besides eating loads of food that will make me full and sleepy, I'll also be doing my English essay on Dubliners. I've got a pretty good idea of where that will be going. I look forward to being in my old room, on my comfortable tempurpedic mattress. Even with the padding I on my bed now I miss my tempurpedic.
I'm worried about physical Ralph. I don't know if you know this, but I have a physical Ralph that I have with me, which is a hand puppet I've had since I was five. That's about thirteen years, pretty old for a hand puppet. He's not doing very well. Bits of his fur or felt are falling off and he's starting to smell funny. I'd put him through the wash, but I don't know if he'd survive. I highly doubt it. I wonder if there is a way to make him better, you know, strengthen his steams and get his eyes back in. I don't know enough about sewing or anything like that. I might even sew up his back since I don't really use him as a puppet anymore, dosn't fit my hand anymore anyways.
Physical Ralph was made by a company called Folkmanis Inc. I'm looking at there website and I can't seem to find Ralph's kind of puppet anywhere. I also can't seem to find any information regarding the Ralph design. I guess that means he's something of an antique. That dosn't comfort me much.
Is there such a place you can go to get your favorite stuffed animal checked up? I'm looking for one at the moment. I found one place, called Chasey's Teddy Bear Repair, but I'm not sure where it is. Maybe if I ask around downtown I can find someone, but I'm worried they'll be shifty. Maybe I can search around my hometown. One of my sisters went to a sewing group, so maybe I could find someone there.
Ralph is stable at the moment.

Where the Aspies Roam

Just came from the Giant Squid. Didn't get any new movies, just needed to get out of the house. It's how I deal with my little sisters screaming. I can't take well, screaming. I need to get out of the house and take a walk. I took a walk downtown. I'm at the library at the moment. Not sure this is necessarily the best place for me to be, what with March Break ending and everything. What I need to do is hide in my room for the rest of the day. Sort of a meditation thing.
Incidentally, Steph, if your reading this I want to talk with you. Nothing really important I just want to run some stuff by you. I feel the need to do stuff like that because I respect you. I tried to reach you but your were preoccupied. If we can get together on MSN sometime that would be great.
Hm, I don't really have anything to talk about. That's sad because this was going to be one of those great big posts. Ah, well.
March Break is really what this was all about when I think of it. Did I have a good March Break? Well, I'm not sure. It was satisfactory, but to much actual nothing. What I want is more socialization. I need more friends to hang out with. Oh, Loncrow did come over and we had a good game of D20 Modern. I can't wait until he can come again. Still, there were some things I didn't get to do. I didn't get to go out to see any movies, and there was some social interaction with another Aspie we never got around to doing this week. Will probably meet him again at a latter date.
Anyway, I'm going to continue to fiddle around on this computer for awhile and then go home. I should probably work on adjusting my emotional level to calm and serene.

March Break is almost over (whimper)

So, March break is slowly coming to an end. This makes me sad because I don't want to go back to school. I've got myself into a nice relaxed mood where I hang out in coffee shops and write my novel. I don't want to go back to the stressful environment of the klingon penal asteroid.
March Break was a pretty good time however. I got myself a new jacket, which is the kind of jacket I picture Naos wearing, except his has a patch for the band "Gunslynger" which hasn't been formed yet. I call it the jacket of Naos and it gives me +4 on all will saves against stress and a +5 armour bonus against all Lawful or Evil attacks. I also got myself some new books. As I have already said, I have the first volume of The Invisibles, and I have also picked up some new used books. Two Michael Moorcock books. The Warlord of the Air and The Jewel In The Skull, as well as a book of William Blake's poetry. I also tried to look for William S. Burrough's Naked Lunch, but I couldn't find it.
I also checked out Wilfred Laurier University. Wilfred Laurier is a really cool university that I am going to try really hard to go too as it is small, has a good program for people with Aspergers such as myself, and has alot of cool stuff I'd like to take. Not as many studies on Middle-Eastern and Asian civilizations as I'd like, but the Medeval Studies looked like fun. There's also a film studies class and I'm interested in making movies since I've been watching so many recently. I've seen, let's see, Kill Bill Volumes 1&2, both really good. Chasing Amy, which I will know say is Kevin Smith's best movie and Tank Girl, which was interesting. It's based on a series of independent comics. I'm not in the mood to go into further detail on it.
This computer is being stupid and won't let me edit anything. So I'm going to stop writing on it. May all it's children grow up to be Conservatives.

Pre-Valentine's Blues

So that job at the Rogers Video I told you about isn't going to happen. Turns out they thought it was a co-op placement and I'll be getting that at the museum. I suppose it's for the best, Rogers is to much of a chain store.
So Valentine's day is coming up. This always highlights my isolation from everyone. I'm not going into to much detail, since I'm not in a mood to post some of my deeper thoughts on the internet. I'm also feeling isolated from my parents. I just don't think I can talk to them anymore. They'd probubly say that I can always talk to them, but I don't want to. Shit, know I feel all lonely again. sigh.
Anyway, that's about it. Computer still dosn't work. Can't think of anything else to say. Bye

2007

Hey, Happy New Year. I'm sorry, but without snow I'm just not in the holiday spirit. I don't know how to explain it or anything. I'm just crazy. (Hello, this is Writer's Mom - he is not crazy - he just does not know how to package holidays without snow - now that it has happened he will be fine if it ever happens again.)
What the frell was that? My mom just walked in her and I don't know, grafittized my post, really weird. This is going to get comments though, huzah.
Well, how did New Year's go. For some reason Little Steven's Underground Garage for some reason so I'm catching it on the internet. I also watched some movies. They were Mallrats and The Great Yokai War. Both of these were good movies. Mallrats is probubly my favorite Kevin Smith movie, since I find trying to figure out the character's motavations. That and Stan Lee is in it. The Great Yokai War is a really cool Japanese movie that may well have been something I would watch over and over again as a child. It's about a little boy who finds a bunch of wicked cool Japanese spirit things and ends up saving the world from this really angry demon guy. It's verging on a cliche, but it's well made.
Lastly, I found this really cool article on Neil Gaiman's blog, you got to read this.
It's really interesting and may just inspire some of the writers reading this. I know I'm going to work on bits of it.
Well, have a great 2007.

Canadian Thanksgiving

While all you Yanks were out celebrating Colombus day, we Canadians got to eat turkey and stuffing. Alright, the only confirmed American reader is Steph. But Megan might be from the United States as well. Not that there is anything wrong with being an American. Americans are great people. Some of my best freinds are Americans.
Anyway, I got a nice three day weekend which envolved watching two movies. First, Lucky Number Sleven. It's basically something about prganized crime I thought would be amusing. It was okay, but I'm going to stick with science fiction and fantasy. That movie had some examples of a real bad side of humanity. The twists in the movie were pretty good though.
Second, X-men 3. I've heard some bad things about this movie, can't think of any mind you, but so help me God I loved this movie. It went into a places that you just can't go into in the comic books, i.e. kill of some of the main characters. You just can't do that in a francize this long. That's why I like comic books without the standard heroes, it's more surprising. Anyway, I loved this movie and I felt a sort of relation considering the mutant cure theme which I felt was similar to a cure for Autism in a few places. Hell, change the words around and you got the arguement right there.
And now, the Thanksgiving dinners. First one was at my Dad's parents. It was a pretty good dinner. Dad's mom delivers again. I remember talking about something with Dad's sister, what was it now? Ah, I can't remember. But I did get started on The Vanishing Tower by Michael Moorcock. I'm on five books. Currently taking president are One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, by Ken Kesey and Wizard and Glass, by Stephen King (book IV in the Dark Tower Series). I'm also slowly working my way through The Two Towers and The Masks of God by Joseph Campbell. The Masks of God is a series documenting the development of human mythology. It was leant to me by one of my aunts.
The second one was more of a lunch. We went to my mom's brother's house. The stuffing was a little unusual, as the vegetables visible, it was still good. I bugged my mom's brother with alot of questions along the lines of "Do you have contact with any alien life forms?" and "Do you know anything about Rosslyn Chapel?" and "Do you know anything about a computer made in the 1940's by a secret cabal of superhumans to map the multiverse?" because he's a freemason. The only yes I got out of him was that he has been to other demensions, but that's only because he's a banker. We also watched a bit of Spaceballs, but the television got all screwy and I got bored with the movie rather quick.
Anyway, today in Health we played a game called Ultimate Chicken. It's like football only you chase a chicken and their's no physical contact. I won the winning goal and became Master of Chickens, which I emideatly told everyone I ran into, including a bunch of kids going to the science room who I heard say "Who was that? Why is he Master of Chickens? What does he mean by that?"
In Art I am working on a comic strip using plasticine figures. I made a plasticine Naos, a plasticine Ralph and a plasticine bunny I made in tribute to Matt Groening's Life in Hell. The plot I ripped of from a Frank Zappa song. It also includes refrences to the Dark Tower series and possibly the comic strip Krazy Kat.
And in English I get to read a Stephen King story. Huzzah.
