Apparently there was no monkey envolved in the Scopes Monkey Trial

So my EA is back. I wasn't paying enough attention in Philosophy, so I suppose I deserve it. But if I'm really good for the next six days she'll go. At first it was five, but five is one of the special numbers and I didn't know if that was a good omen or not. I thought it wasn't, but I'm having doubts at the moment.

On the subject of Philosophy, I have to write an essay about what a certain philosopher (Francis Bacon, Rene Descartes, John Locke or David Hume) would think of the theory of evolution. I'm thinking about doing either Rene Descartes or David Hume because I feel I've got a good handle on them, mainly since John Locke is hard to read. I also had to read alot on the Scopes Monkey Trial, which was a big thing on evolution being taught in the American South during the 1920's. It was a pretty interesting account, since to me it looked like few of the people involved even cared about evolution except for the people who where against it and even then the major players had ulterior motives.

And there was no monkey testifying at the trial. There where a bunch of people who brought performing monkeys and said they would be testifying in the trial. They did have an article about a super-intellegent Chimpanzee from the future named Cornelius, but it was dismissed because the concept of a civilization of intellegent apes went against the Bible. As did the theory of a civilization of human degenerates who live underground and worship a bomb.

And that's all I can write for now because I am know bored.

Oh my God, I used a frowny internet face. What am I comming to?
Anyway, as the post says I failed to live up to my new goal of posting on the 5th, 7th, 19th and 23rd of each day of the month. I sincerly apologize, and promise that I will find something to post about tomorrow.

I just thought that I'd make a 23 watch. Every month I could post some new stuff I learned about the number 23, most likely on the 23rd. Gives this blog more of a purpose beyond being the place where I post all kinds of stuff for all to see. It could also show that I am getting more and more obsessed with a seemingly random number.
On the subject of Last.fm, I think it's been a pretty good deal. I've bookmarked a tag radio for 60's garage rock and Surf music, which is partially inspired by liseaning to Little Steven's Underground Garage (see link). I've also found out alot about new bands such as Aprodite's Child and.... well, Aphrodite's Child is the only one I've got so far, oh wait Curved Air. That band is pretty cool. Still, I'm probubly going to by the concept Album Aphrodite's Child did on the Book of Revelations, 666.
I've been thinking alot about the 1960's storyline. The way I see it the first really important novel is going to be about how the various characters try and create a new society, what with the fact most of them are drop-outs, where forced out or are wanted dead by there previous societies. The way I see it, I've got alot of people with verging world views. Here's a list of the kinds of people who inhabit the Commune or whatever it's going to end up.

• Artists, this includes painters, writers, mucisians. People like Roland Morningstar and David Howl. I'm also thinking Moon is going to have some kind of artistic talent, probubly an actor as I don't have any of those in.
• Off-beat and Radical Politicals, At the moment I've got one Trotskyist and a small group of Black Nationalists. Since the Trotskyist, Abraham Nakamura, comes in with the grand majority of Black Nationalists, they might have Communist sympathys. Probubly Abe's girlfriend is one of the Black Nationalists. Yeah, I like that idea.
  
• Religious Seekers and Mystics, This would include various people in a spiritual crisis and the people who are not. Roland qualifies as a seeker, as do a lot of the characters on some level. Mystics would be the people who are already at a stage, and know more of what's going on then most of the other characters. This would be people like Are'do, Rachel, Yeshua and Sophia. On another level, Yeshua is also a seeker, but for way different reasons then anyone else.
• Hippies, most of the characters are hippies or are at least very close. I think David is more of a beat really, which is why I dropped the "e" out of his last name. See Howl. Come to think of it, the story I'm writting about him shares many similarities to the poem.
  

Well, that's all I've got to write about. I'm going to stop writing this now for I have grown bored. I promise to write about something tomorrow though.

I'M OUT!!!

Yeah! I'm out of school. Summer is here and I don't have to go to School, I can goof of all day. Huzzah!
So yeah, I'm out of school. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with all this free time. I figure I could try blogging more. I've been thinking about making a post on every 5th, 7th, 19th and 23rd day of the month because they are my special numbers. Mom says I should try doing a blog post every 23 hours. I don't know if I can work that but it would stave of boredom.
And there is the novel. I plan on working really hard on my novel so I can get it done by the end of summer. I figure I can get at least three chapters of it done this week. That and I'm going to get started on the 1960's stories.
On the subject of the number 23, I'm working a thing in where the number 23 plays a role in each of the characters lives in some way. Here's what I've got so far.

• David Howl only sold 23 copies of his first novel.
  
• Jack Blackwright wakes up in the Soho district of London with a 23 year memory gap.
• Oothoon was 23 years old when she left the Brides of Yazan.

Okay, that's all I've got so far. I also have the idea that some of the characters were born on the 23th of something.
I've also been wondering what else I should actually do. There are a lot of things I want to work in to this series. Here, I'll make a list.

1. My Main Pantheon, this is going in as it is way to important to the plot
2. Historic Feel of Haight-Ashbury in the 1960's, I'm probably going to have to find people for this or at least read a whole lot of books
3. A Cast similar to that on Lost, Basically, a bunch of people from all walks of life who are drawn together by a similar force and end up creating a sort of tribe.
4. Historical Figures, I want to work real people into the story line. So far all I got is that The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and the Jefferson Airplane are going to appear, a possible Beatles cameo, and Charles Manson seems to be turning into an antagonist. I'm also thinking Ken Kesey might turn out to be a major character. Oh, and the Black Panthers come in here somewhere.
5. Fictional Characters, I've been thinking about working fictional characters into the universe. I already have an idea that Cthulhu, or at least something like Cthulhu, turns up. Actually, Steph knows that Cthulhu comes up. I also see Jerry Cornelius appearing somewhere in the story, mainly around the London stories. The problem is I don't know if Michael Moorcock would allow me to use Jerry Cornelius in a story. If not I'm probably going to have to come up with some alternate version, which would also be fun. Maybe I should do that instead. Forget I wrote this down.
6. Metafiction, I've been really into this ever since I read Animal Man. There's an entire list of things and I would like to work as many of them in as possible.
   
7. Some kind of important link to Mythania, Somehow the characters should be aware of Mythania, even if most of them never go there. I'm thinking that two of the characters end up discovering they share the same fantasy world and end up writing a novel, which could also work into the Metafiction element, making it a story-within-a-story.
